Plant reproduction
SEED DISPERSAL
Wind- the plant flutter to the ground. With wind dispersal, the seeds are simply blown about and land in all kinds of places.
-
-
Explosive action- have pod-like structures, which will split open when ripe. Thus, fruits/seeds dispersed by splitting are clustered around the parent plant.
-
Animal - there are 2 groups, 1 group have tiny hooks that hook onto the animals furr, and the other groups are the fruits that we eat, like papays and others, they are all juicy
-
Seed dispersal is the mechanism by which plant seeds are transported to new sites for germination and the establishment of new individuals. Animals commonly mediate this process, and consequently, the ultimate fate of seeds depends on their effectiveness as seed dispersers.
-
FERTILISATION
Fertilization is a process of sexual reproduction, which occurs after pollination and germination. Fertilization can be defined as the fusion of the male gametes (pollen) with the female gametes (ovum) to form a diploid zygote
-
GERMINATION
Germination is usually the growth of a plant contained within a seed; it results in the formation of the seedling. It is also the process of reactivation of metabolic machinery of the seed resulting in the emergence of radicle and plumule.
-
POLLINATION
Pollen from the flower(male part of flower) drops onto the pollinator then puts the pollen and put it on the stigma (female part of the flower) The fertilized flower later yields fruit and seeds.
