Nursing diagnosis
Acute pain due to infection and inflammation of the middle ear as evidenced by complaint about ear pain, crying and irritation, pulled ing the ear every now and then and cries
Nursing interventions
Assess the child's level of pain and rate it, observe when the child touches or pulls the ear.
Monitor vital signs, Temperature especially because infection cause the baby to have fever.

Rationale

Whrn the child is chewing (hard food) the eustachian tube may be moves and in that way pain will not subside butt increase
Becaused while giving analgesics to trae the pain but the child continues to irritate the ear, pain will not be decreases
The effectiveness of medication will be shown in the vital signs monitoring,
Expected outcome
The child will have less pain, less crying episodes and not pulling or tugging the ear.

The anatomy of the eustachian tube in younger children is immature, typically being short, straight, wide (only becoming more oblique as the child grows), meaning infection is more likely.
