VOLCANOES - Coggle Diagram
VOLCANOES
Features
Volcanoes can be:
-
-
Inactive (I'ts not erupting for 10,000 years or more, considering it as a volcano which would not erupt again. But they can erupt after those 10,000 years)
Types of Volcanoes
Composite volcanoes
-
-
Alternate layers are formed because each eruption first produces rock fragments which are later covered by lava

Estructure
-
Crater
A volcanic crater is a bowl- or funnel-shaped depression that usually lies directly above the vent from which volcanic material is ejected
Volcanic Bombs
A volcanic bomb or lava bomb is a mass of molten rock formed when a volcano ejects viscous fragments of lava during an eruption. They cool into solid fragments before they reach the ground.
Magma chamber
The location beneath the vent of a volcano where molten rock (magma) is stored prior to eruption. Also known as a magma storage zone or magma reservoir.
Pyroclastic Flow
A pyroclastic flow is a hot, chaotic mixture of rock fragments, gas, and ash that travels rapidly away from a volcanic vent or collapsing flow front. Pyroclastic flows can be extremely destructive and deadly because of their high temperature and mobility.
