The reason why oceanic whitetips are endangered because...
Their fins are highly valued in the international trade for shark products.
Humens cut their fins that kills the shark for a short amount of time. It is also used for cooking shark soup mostly in China.
Why do you find it interesting?
I found this interesting because it's a slow swimmer ( 0.6 - 0.7 metres/second ). It's also knowned as "Brown Milbert's sand bar shark".
