AMERICAN GOVERNMENT - Coggle Diagram

- - - - Congress: The House of Representatives and the Senate combined.
        
        The House of Representatives: The number of representatives your state has is proportional to the state population. There are 435 representatives total. You have to be 25 years old and you get elected for 2 years at a time BUT you can serve unlimited terms.
        
        The Senate: EQUAL representation. 100 total, each state gets 2 representatives. You have to be 30 years old, you get a 6 year term, and you can serve unlimited terms.
  - - - President: Our chief executive. You have to be 35, a natural born citizen, and you are elected for 4 years but can only serve a total of 2 terms.
      - Vice President: The VP is elected. The VP presides over the Senate. They cannot vote in the Senate but they can break a tie. If a President resigns or dies, the VP will take their place.
      - Cabinet
        
        Appointed advisors; approved by senate and nominated by the president. 15 members. To demonstrate how diverse the U.S. is that the president needs to know.
  - - - Supreme Court Justice: Nominated by president and approved by the majority of the senate. There is no minimum age and they can stay in office as long as they choose.
      - Chief Justice: In charge of who writes this, who writes that, etc. Holds no extra power when it comes to votes.
