Work is what happens when you apply a force over a certain distance to a system
System means whatever section of the universe you are talking about at that given point
If you pull a box with a rope across the floor, said box could be taken as your system and the force youre using to pull is an external force. If you pull the box for a meter youre doing work on it.
Work is equal to the force youre using to pull the box times the distance it was moved. Although it is often written as: W = F

if you applied 50N of force on the box and pulled it 5 meters, you did 250 Newton-meters (Joules) of work on the box
Joules are often used to represent Energy. Work is just a change in energy.
If different forces were present you could use integration (topic from derivatives and integrals) to add all of the increments or decreases.

Kinetic Energy
The energy of motion
If an object is stationary it is said to have no kinetic energy
Once a force is applied and it starts moving it has kinetic energy
KE = 1/2m*v^2
Potential Energy
Defined as energy that COULD be used to do work
Gravitational PE
The one that exists due to, well the fact that gravity exists.
If an object is held above the ground it has potential energy. once it reaches the ground it becomes 0, as it cannot be moved anymore.

K is a constant different to each spring and it represents its stiffness

Can neither be created or destroyed
Conservative system is one that does not lose energy through work

Defined as work over time and is measured in Watts
Watt = Joules/Second
