Mobile Computing Components
3 Tiers architecture for Mobile Computing
3 major parts
cliient tier(
presentation layer
)
presents data to the user, optionally permits data manipulation and provide data entry,
business logic tier(
application layer
)
acts as the server for client requests from workstations.
database tier(
data access layer
)
The third tier of the 3-tier system is made up of the DBMS that provides all the data for the above two layers.
advantages
each tier can be developed simultaneously by a separate development team
Wireless System architechture
It is a meta-network, which refers to a congregation of thousands of distinct networks interacting with a common protocol.
Wireless Network System Components
Wireless router
wireless access pointer(WAP)
wireless bridge
wireless controller
Celullar Network
It is a radio network distributed over land areas called cells, each served by at least one fixed-location transceiver, known as a cell site or base station. In a cellular network, each cell uses a different set of frequencies from neighboring cells, to avoid interference and provide guaranteed bandwidth within each cell.
Types of Information Signal
Analog Signals
Digital Signals
Mobile Computing OS
A mobile operating system allows the user to run other different application software on the mobile, tablets, etc
