TEACHING BY PRINCIPLES
Principle 8: Risk-Taking
- Is ingrained in students as they grow.
- Teachers' ways of encouraging learning have both beneficial and bad outcomes in the classroom.
- Every learner possesses the ability to take risks.
- Many situations in and outside of the classroom will become anxiety-inducing.
- Risk takers will not be moderated when anxiety levels rise.
- Students with risk-taking traits, or risk-takers, will regard those major causes of anxiety as a benefit rather than a disadvantage.

PRINCIPLE 10
-A students first language will heavily affect their understanding and usage of their second langauge
-This especially applies to beginners
•A student with lack of experience and relies too much on their understanding of their first language only will not be able to identify and correct these mistakes
•The sentence is grammatically incorrect due to the direct implementation of the student's first language.
• a student whose primary speech is Malay will say "Tolong buka lampu". In English, the direct translation would be "please open lights"
