Past simple of be (was/were).
RULE
Was corresponds to the first person singular (I) and the third person singular (he, she, it); were is used for other people (you, we, they). I was at work. You were quite ill.
USE
In affirmative is: I was at the match.
In Negative is: Iwasn't at the match.
EXAMPLES
AFFIRMATIVE
WAS: There was snow last month. WERE: We were at the match.
NEGATIVE
WASN'T: We wasn't at the match. WEREN'T: We were at the match.

RULE

RULE

RULE
Add -er for the comparative and -est for the superlative. If the adjective ends in consonant + vowel + consonant, the last consonant must be repeated before adding the ending.
EXAMPLE
Luis has three brothers; John has three brothers. Juan has as many brothers as Luis.
