Exposition:- The narrator is recalling when he was little. He is talking about His brother Doodle and is telling about his parents.

Conflict:- The narrator and Doodle were working on Doodle's walking, swimming, and running, because the narrator was disappointed that his little brother was not normal.

Climax:- The narrator and Doodle are running in a storm and the narrator pushes Doodle a little too hard, and Doodle's weak heart cannot handle all this running.

Resolution:- The narrator is holding his brother and crying and starts to compare his brother to the Scarlet Ibis. He is crying over Doodle.
