Pathophysiology
- Stratum corneum 2. Stratum granulosum 3. Desmoglein
- Portal of entry : Entry of pathogen
- S.aureus release exfoliative toxin which contains Serine protease
- Serine protease damages desmoglein which is protein in nature. Desmoglein holds stratum cornuem together
- Exfoliative toxins creates space in between the stratum corneum where staphylococcus grow.
- Again S. aureus produce more toxins which creates a space between stratum granulosum
- The space between the stratum cornuem leads to blister formation.
Signs and Symptoms

- Bullous Impetigo- brownish crust, Diarrhea, weakness and fever
- Non-bullous- purulent discharges and honey or yellow crust
