4. Research Aims, Objectives and Research Questions

- Primary Research Question: "What are the factors that would support a stronger incorporation of women's participation in Disaster Risk Reduction
Sub Question 2: What lessons, impacts and women's experiences can be drawn from Contextual Co-factors between Countries within Oceanic to better address failings?
Sub Question 3: How can the above results be used to develop a framework that addresses these gaps and leads to inform stakeholders in future DRR and CC efforts.
Sub Question 1: What are the barriers and enablers of Disaster Climate Law and Public Policy to promote women's participation in DRR and CC initiatives.
- Aims: The purpose of the proposed study is to explore the status of existing Climate Disaster Law and Public Policy in DRR and CC at the National, State, and Local Level within the Oceania Region through the lens' of Women's Contextual Co-Factors.
- Study aims to highlight existing barriers and enablers with the view of developing a framework of recommendations and guidelines for stakeholders to further support Women's leadership, participations, and capacity in all facets of DRR and CC initiatives within the Oceania Region.

NB: Expected Outcomes
2.The study combines a unique investigation and analysis within areas of Climate Disaster Law, Pubic Policy (National, State, Local) and Women's Contextual Co-factors between Countries within Oceanic, highlighting existing barriers and enablers to inform and develop a framework of recommendations and guidelines.
- Without urgent attention it is likely that DRR and CC efforts will continue to not fully represent nor address gender needs relating to disasters and climate change, further exacerbating womens' existing vulnerabilities, and further inhibit governments and other organisations from achieving their DRR and CC commitments. [Leaving noone behind].
- The research topic addresses a significant gap in reflection of Women's leadership, participation and capacity within DRR and CC efforts.
