The human brain is a complex organ made up of around 60% fat, making it the fattiest organ in the body, while being only 2% of a humans body weight (Lewis & Taylor, 2021) weighing just 3 pounds (Northwestern Medicine, 2019). The cerebrum, cerebellum and brainstem make up the brains anatomy and these elements work together to control multiple behaviours including our emotions, senses, creativity and movements (Mayfield Brain & Spine, 2018). As part of the CNS (central nervous system), the brain sends, receives, processes and directs information from the outside world throughout the body creating an individuals reactions and behaviours (Bailey, 2019). This essay will describe the anatomy of the brain, recognising how various areas can control the emotions and behaviours of individuals.
