The old tradition: Human societies produce goods to satisfy needs, they used wood, clay and metals, Crafts and manufactures, mass production of goods for mass consumption
Industries in Ecuador
Food and beverage: It is the most important industry and has the biggest number or workers. Some are in Guayas, Pichincha and Sucumbios.
Fishing: Fleet fishery Network of refrigerators, factories for canning and processing of fishmeal, fish oil, artisanal fishing
Textile industry: Is one of the oldest in the country, it is made up of large spinning and weaving companies, and by numerous small clothing companies. Pichincha and Guayas.
Footwear: Existence of numerous small footwear industries, which offer many Job positions. Pichincha, Tungurahua, Guayas, Cotopaxi, Chimborazo.
Wood industry: A monopolistic industrial sector, few companies control most of the sales and asset or facilities. Esmeraldas - Amazon
Sugar: Traditional industry San Carlos, Valdez, La Troncal Guayas and Cañar
Diary: Agro-industry National market provision
Cars: Large assembling companies, assembling with parts that are brought from abroad, small production companies of manufacturing auto parts or accessories. Pichincha & Tungurahua
Construction: Dependent on public investment, influenced by oil exports. Requires supply of migrant workers.

In Ecuador we have many smal businesses and their ownwrs mostly are families and it turns into a family business wich goes from generation to generation.
The small bussines offer many jobs

Craft activity: Concentrated in textile areas clothing, food, footwear, wooden furniture, metal products, goldsmithing and carving.

High participation of women
