Types of maps:
Topographic maps: Displays a detailed representation of heights above sea level using contour lines.

Street map: Displays street names, infrastructures, networks, important buildings, green spaces, place names and suburb information.
Physical map: Shows characteristics of the natural environment - forested areas, water bodies, mountain heights, heights above sea level.
Political map: displays country borders, country names, states, territories and capital cities.
Climate map: Shows distribution of climate regions usually using a range of colours to classify according to temperature and rainfall.

Equator: An invisible line that runs from east to west at 0 that separates the Northern Hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere.
