Rapunzel is a beautiful long-haired girl imprisoned by an enchantress. She is naive in a sense that she is so trusting she allows the prince the tower, even though she has never heard his voice before. She is also clueless as to what the outside world is like, as she has been trapped inside the castle for most of her life.

Rapunzel's parents long for a child. Rapunzel's mother ins the one who sets the whole plot in motion.
