mentally as he cannot function without playing his online games
thumb is a signal of the start of human "evolution" but Gregory lost his thumb (regression)

when facing symptoms of mental illness
seek treatment and proper help
raise awareness and take care of child mental well being = ensure they are in a positive and motivational atmosphere
where the kid will not have to resort to other forms of escapism like online addiction to resolve them
should not be ignored like his family did or it will only lead the kid down a darker path of NO RETURN
