Goal setting

Process goals relate to the changes that you need to make to be able to improve your overall performance
Setting goals will allow the athlete to have a direct attention, allow the athletes to have mobilising effort, prolonging persistence and developing new strategies.
Mastery goals are goals that focus on the performance of self. "I will score more goals than last game"
Outcome goals relate to the outcome of an event, for example you have to win.
Competitive goals are ones which the goals become the performance of another person or persons and changes as the performance of the competitor changes. " I will score the most goals, more than everyone else".

Imagination is omnipresent. People utilise their imagination to achieve a diversity of goals, to relax, to experience excitement, to enjoy holidays over and over again. acquire stress management skills and to practice motor tasks.
Self talk
Focus, not negative- this will allow the performer to be more focused by thinking with positive thoughts therefore they're ready and calm for the game instead of being angry and disturbed.
Arousal control will allow the athlete to control their stress and anxiety and will allow the athlete to stay as calm as possible.
Self talk is when anytime you think about something, you think to yourself.
Pre performance routine will allow the athlete to compete in the game very confidently due to already having a brief view on what the game will look like and what kind of outcome could happen.
Self confidence will allow the athlete to be more competitive and confident when going into a game instead of being really nervous and allowing the opponent to win the game.
