Methods and Classification of contraceptives
Combined Hormone Contraceptives: Disruption of Normal Hormonal patterns in Female Cycle.
Injected Contraception: Injection of a "Anti-progesterone to prevent follicle Maturation.
Chemical Barriers: Spermicides, Kill sperm before Fertilization.
Contraceptive Implant: Implant in Arm that stops follicle maturation & Ovulation for 3 Years.
Mechanical Barriers: Condoms for Male or Female.
Intrauterine Device: Object Implant in Uterus that is toxic to sperm or Egg cells to prevent Maturation.
Rhythm Method: Sexual Intercourse during Ovulation Period.
Sterilization: Most Effective method. Removal of Vas Deferens in males or cutting of Uterine Tubes to prevent Sperm Transport.
Coitus Interruptus: Withdraw of Penis from Vagina during Ejaculation.
Hormones of the reproductive system
Male Hormones: Testosterone- Leads to deepening of Voice, Body Hair, Thickening of Hair, Thicker Skin, and increased Muscular and Skeletal Growth.
Female Hormones.
Progesterone: Uterine Changes during Menstrual Cycle.
Androgen- Hair Growth, and Broadening of Hips.
Estrogen: Breast Development, Sex Organ Enlargement, adipose tissue deposition increase, and Skin Vascularization.
Anatomy of male reproductive structures
Male Gonads: Testes- Produce Sperm
Penis:External Organ outside of Body.
The Scrotum- Holds 1-4 Tubules which helps give rise to Sperm Cells.
Interstitial cells- Produces Male Sex Hormones.
Events of the female hormonal cycles
Third Cycle: FSH Stimulates Maturation of Follicles.
Fourth Cycle: LH Produce Testosterone which is converted into Estrogen in the Ovary.
Second cycle: GnRh is Recieved from the Hypothalamus which cause FSH, LH to secrete.
Menarche: First cycle which occurs after reproduction organ Maturity, response to female hormones.
Major functions of the Reproductive system
Male and Female System Functions.
Female: The Female Reproductive system consists of The Vagina, Uterus, and Uterus Lining for Implantation.
The Role of the Female Reproductive system is to Receive the Sperm from the Male and create a child inside the Uterus after Implantation is successful.
Male: The Male Reproductive system consists internal and external parts, the external being the Penis and the Internal being the testes.
Testes produce sperm that is delivered during sexual intercourse.
Anatomy of female reproductive structures
Ovaries- Contains Oocytes.
Vagina: Fibro-Muscular tube, covered by a membrane called the Hymen. Serves as a Birthing Canal.
uterus: Hollow Muscular Organ, Maintains development of embryo and then Fetus.
Disorders associated with the reproductive system
Genital Herpes: Caused by HSV2, will give Genital sores and fever. Antiviral drugs will treat it.
Genital Warts: Caused by HPV and can cause Warts, Chemicals or Surgery is needed for treatment.
Chlamydia: caused by CTB, Can cause painful Urination, Mucous Discharge from Penis or Vagina. Can be treated with Antibiotics.
Gonorrhea: caused by NGB, can cause painful Urination but can be treated by Antibiotics.
Aids: Caused by HIV can give symptoms that cause Fever, Infection, or Cancer, No cure but drugs to delay symptoms.
Syphilis: caused by TPB, can cause Heart, Liver, or even Brain damage. Antibiotics can help treat it.
