Until the ‘30s of the 20th century, this was called PROGRESS, but then the concept of
development began to be used as a synonym of well-being and wealth
In 1990, the United Nations published its first global report on HUMAN DEVELOPMENT causing a historic change in this conception.
HUMAN DEVELOPMENT - CONCEPT
Human Development is not only economic growth but also means empowerment of people, attention to basic needs, and the provision of social protection networks, political and cultural freedoms and other aspects of people's lives
According to human development there are four essential components
EQUITY
SUSTAINABILITY
PRODUCTIVITY
EMPOWERMENT

Inequity, the persistence of poverty, unemployment, underemployment and economic
informality have allowed a complete human development
That is why it is necessary to direct public policies and international resources for development, the fruits of economic growth and technological progress towards the eradication of poverty, social inequality and guarantee of sustainability
