A commonly used technique to split or cut footage and

The effect is applied for the duration of the clip.
If only needed on one part – split the clip first.
Transitions
These are the visual effects used to change from one
video clip to the next.

Titles, graphics and text
Titles are used at the beginning of the clip.
Graphics enhance the interest (especially motion
graphics).
Credits are used at the end (if needed).
Editing software includes tools and techniques to easily
add text, for example, by using a template or video
effects.
Effects can be dragged and dropped onto an entire clip
on the timeline.
