The Fifth Amendment
The right to a grand jury. Protection against self-incrimination. Forbids “double jeopardy”
The Sixth Amendment
The right to: a public trial without unecessary delay, a lawyer, an impartial jury, know who your accusers are and the nature of the charges and evidence against you.
The Fourth Amendment
Prohibits unreasonable searches and seizures.
The Seventh Amendment
Civil cases or lawsuits based on disagreements between people or businesses, have the right to be decided by a jury in federal court.
The Third Amendment
Restricts the housing of solidiers without the homeowner’s consent.
The Eighth Amendment
Prohibits imposing unduly harsh penalties on criminal defendants.
The Second Amendment
The right to keep and bear arms.
The Ninth Amendment
The rights in the Constitution belong to the citizens, not the government.
The First Amendment
Freedom of speech, religion, press, assembly, and petition.

Leftover power given to the people.

Legislative
The House of Representatives with 435 representatives. Representation depending on population of state.
The Senate with 100 senators, two for each state.
Executive
The United States of America’s President. Also, cabinet members. Also, Vice President (president runner up).
Judicial
Supreme Court with one Chief Justice and eight associate justices.

Republican
Generally believes that it is the responsibility of individuals and communities to take care of people in need.

Democrat
Generally believes that the government should take care of people.

a form of government with a monarch at the head.
Democracy
