IMPACTS OF HUMAN ACTIVITIES ON THE WATER CYCLE
:
The use of fossil fuels, for example, contributes to the overall increase in Earth's temperature. Raising the Earth's temperature causes an increase in evaporation, the melting of land and sea ice, and other water cycle effects that have a negative impact on the Earth's climate.
Uncontrolled dumping of domestic waste into nearby rivers or stream especially from rural residential areas. Hence, this lead to water hygiene quality is affected as it contaminated the water body and the ground water source. It also hinder storm water flow and causing stagnant water bodies to grow.
The pesticides and fertilizers used in agriculture contaminate both the groundwater and surface water. The fertilizers are chemically harmful and contain high minerals which increases the salinity of the groundwater.
By cutting down trees, there would be a decrease in transpiration. This leads to a deficiency in rainfall in the forest area.
[The dams change the way rivers function. It will trap sediment, burying rock riverbeds which leads to the river being unable to flow freely. This eventually changes the dissolved chemical molecule in water by becoming stagnant and the bottom will deplete with oxygen.
DAILY ACTIVITES USING WATER WHICH MAY NOT BE SUSTAINABLE**
Excessive use of water during shower.
Excessive water consumption while washing clothes.
Habit on leaving the tap running during brushing
teeth
Advisably use a cup or simply turn off the faucet
Using water excessively when washing dishes
excessive use of water when gardening
