Forgiveness and helping victims of war
Forgiveness
Reconciliation means making up and rebuilding relationships between two groups/sides after a disagreement.
Many think that forgiveness is "letting someone off" well it isn't.
When we think of crimes or war crimes many choose to forgive those who committed awful crimes but they were then still punished for them.
"Forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us" - Christians believe God will forgive us if we forgive other people.
"Forgive your brother 'seventy times seven'" - Forgiveness is unlimited and we should keep forgiving no matter what.
"Go now and leave your life of sin" - Jesus gives the woman caught in adultery another chance. He gives her a chance to reform and we should do the same.
Victims of War
The Geneva convention
Most countries signed an agreement, this is a list of rules that state what they can and can't do during war.
If they don't keep to these rules then they could be found guilt of committing war crimes.
An example on this is the war with Ukraine at the moment where Putin is shelling innocents and bombing hospitals.
Christian Aid
Christian Aid is one of the biggest Christian organisations
However, just because it's run by Christians doesn't mean they don't help others of other religions
Christian Aid was set up in the 1940's.
They aim to bring aid to end poverty, what every the circumstance.
