TV: soaps represent places through the lives of local people.
Many films rely on their representation of place to tell their story to the viewer.
Composers and authors have used the medic to depict places - joined by photography, social media and art/graffiti.

Data/ statistics that are collected and stored - can be from maps.
Census: started in 1801 where sophisticated and detailed data is collected every 10 years about the population (e.g. gender, age, education, religion, health issues etc.). It is essential for government planning and allocation of resources to areas like schools, healthcare facilities and housing.

Rural Areas
Rural communities have specific characteristics which set them apart from urban communities.
These include: a close knit community where everyone knows everyone, more conservative and traditional views, more similar in nature and less mobility (spatially and socially).
