Different Family Structures
Extended Family
An extended family is made up of grandparents, aunties, uncles, and cousins. They all live close to each other or in the same household so for example, if a married couple lives with their husbands parents they go from a nuclear family to an extended family. This is usually a large family and Pakistani and Bangladeshi families are the largest families which have the generations like their grandparents living with them. Every extended family is different.
“Young married couples without children may continue to live as part of an extended family until they have their own children and are better able to move out on their own”. Mayntz, M. (2011). So, a young couple may live with a extended family until they have their own child and are stable enough to move out with their child and their partner

Nuclear Family
A family unit made up of a two adults and number of children. The children are usually the biological children of the parents.
Concept of family and family values
A family value is different to every family and will be specific to each family. These values represent how they want to their family life and these values help everyone good decisions because they use these values to live a good life.
Each family has their own morals and values which they use to go though life. "Moral values often define a core personal ethic that drives how a family makes their way in society, knowing the difference between right and wrong" Zitzman, B. (2019).
The children that live with them might be biological, adopted or stepchildren. A nuclear family is the most common type of family in the UK and the parents are usually married also the family normally lives away from the other family and they usually need to make effort to maintain a relationship with the other family members.
Reconstituted Family (Blended)
A blended family has two parents and they both have children from different relationships, and it can be called a stepfamily. In a blended family children live with their parent and a stepparent, and it may include stepbrothers, stepsisters or half-brothers/sisters. The parent and the stepparent may have a child together.
Same-sex Family
A same sex family is made up of two parents who are the same gender, so it is becoming common for children to grow up in a same sex family. The parents may have adopted the child or have been helped by a surrogate-parent, so a surrogate is someone who has the baby for the parents.
Children from the family may get bullied for the family they come from so you should think of ways you can help them so they do not let it bother them and they can stand up to them. “You can talk to them about discrimination and help them think about why people tease or bully others”. Gibbons, C.2020.
