6 Forms of Energy
Electrical
Nuclear
Thermal
Radiant
mechanical
Chemical
energy stored in a system by reason of the position of its parts.
energy contained in the forces
that hold the nucleus of an atom together
stored in the charges found on particles in atoms
energy contained in waves that are part of the electromagnetic spectrum
molecular potential and kinetic energy of atoms
stored in the chemical bonds of substances
Nuclear
The sun is an example of radiant energy because it sends radient energy waves that come to the earth.
Rubber bands are an example of mechanical energy because of the energy in it. When expanded it will contract.

Food is an example because there is chemical energy that is stored inside of the food substance.
Plug in cords are examples because there are stored charges inside and they give away energy to the item they are supposed to charge.
A burning pot is an example because it used the potential and kinetic energy when heating. That makes the energy of atoms boil.
