The culture shock that I experienced can be
explained as this_
According to Troy Segal (2021), “Culture shock is the movement of people from one country to a new one, from one cultural background to a new one” (p 1). Culture shock can be multifaceted, from environment, diet, language, clothing, behavior, population density, the political and economic environment, both physical and more spiritual. I'm an international student, and I'm also experiencing a culture clash right now. I think the food is what I'm going through right now. Because of the differences between countries, the food is very different; I am not very used to eating western food because I think western food is too monotonous. For culture shock, most students have already made connected psychological preparations before going abroad to study. Studying abroad is a process of acquiring knowledge and a rare opportunity to understand different cultures. Conflict can be avoided with an open mind, and the environment can be merged more quickly.

I am aware of these social injustices in the USA
Racism: In today's society, many black people are still racially discriminated against. Not only black people are racially discriminated against, but also some Asians.
Slavery in America(History.com, 2009) In the 17th and 18th centuries (History. com, 2009), many blacks were forced to work for wealthy whites, and blacks became slaves to the wealthy. These blacks cannot go to school, experience politics, and have no personal freedom of their own.
I am aware of these social injustices in my home country
- The fairness of education is very different from region to region. It is impossible to change the class through education in the more impoverished regions are.
- Inequity in medical care. The rich can get better medical care, but the poor cannot.
- Regarding the gap between the rich and the poor, China has become more and more serious at present, and the class is basically solidified

Dimensions of Culture
click to edit
The way Trompennaars describes cultures, my culture is best identified as: ___
According to Hofstede's cultural dimensions, I belong to the following categories: __
According to Meyer's Culture Map, these are the dimensions best describe me:__
The first and most important difference between Eastern and Western cultures is the euphemism of the East and the directness of the West. Whether expressing emotion or giving negative feedback, the East has always been more reserved and reserved than the West. Eastern countries (such as China and Japan) generally have a relatively long history and relatively closed internal environment. Such an environment enables the citizens to develop an introverted culture that is good at listening and euphemistic expression.
Individualism and Communitarianism (Trompennaars, 1997). In my culture, my culture is communitarianism. Because the power of the group is stronger than the power of the individual. Groups are more important than individuals because groups provide help and safety.

I belong to this group in my home culture: dominant
My Intersectionality:__
Description
Explanation
I am Chinese, and sometimes Chinese people are discriminated against in the United States. For example, because COVID-19 has had a significant impact on many countries, some Americans believe Chinese people have brought COVID-19. Before, Washington George University put up posters discriminating against Chinese people in schools. I was also influenced by intersectionality when I was in high school in the US. My physical education teacher thinks that the physical fitness of the Chinese is not very good, so I cannot experience in the school basketball team and do some vigorous sports.
According to Anne Sisson Runyan(2018), "Intersection theory also crosses more identity boundaries. Intersection theory is now being applied to understand how we all have multiple identities, albeit constructed and temporary. The remarkable Sexuality – based not only on race, normative gender, class, and country, but also on Sexuality, non-normative gender, physical (disability) ability, religion, and age – varies across eras and contexts, conferring disadvantage or privilege in us In each individual, it is again about time and context." Intersection happens to the Chinese many times, and I think people should change their previous perceptions of the Chinese.
I belong to this group in the USA: dominant or nondominant/targeted
People in non-dominant groups may be oppressed through restrictions, disadvantages, or disapproval. They may even be abused by personal, institutional, or cultural practices. I think I belong to the non-dominant. Because I am Chinese, Chinese are often discriminated against by some people in the United States.
My identity has gone through the following development since myrelocation: ___
When I was in China before, I did not have anything to think about and could do what I wanted to do because I am Chinese and I know Chinese culture very well, and I do not have to worry that I will destroy Chinese culture. I belong to the dominant in China. However, I am different in America because it's a new culture. I have to be careful in everything I do because I do not want to destroy American culture. Furthermore, I also worry about whether others will discriminate against me. When I arrived in the United States, I became a non-dominant.
