Spady claims that the educators and the students can focus consistently, systematically, clearly and creatively.

To achieve clarity of focus, educators will be required to use long term outcomes to teach and put their focus on that.
The focus is mostly on all the assessments the students will do, which will clearly define outcomes that are important.
According to Spady culminating outcomes is the final outcome that students should ne able to achieve.
The learners will be able to to identify and solve problems, which leads them to making decisions using critical and creative thinking.
According to the CAPs document they will be able to communicate effectively sing symbolic, visual and language skills in different modes.

The instructions will trace back and identify the building blocks that will take the learners to the end results.
The result will define the leaners outcome, not that the learners outcome will define the outcome
The simple linear process means that there should be links between teaching, planning assessment decisons.
