Types of Wastes
Agricultural waste
Waste produced by agricultural operation is called agricultural waste
Agricultural waste includes waste from farms, poultry houses and slaughter houses.
Agricultural waste may expose workers to harmful biological material (biohazards).
What is biohazard?- A biohazard, is a biological substance that poses a threat to the health of living organisms, primarily humans. This could include a sample of a microorganism, virus or toxin that can adversely affect human health.
Industrial waste
Industrial waste is the waste produced by industrial activity.
It includes any material that is rendered useless during a manufacturing process such as that of factories, industries, mills, and mining operations.
It includes chemicals, trash, oils, solvents, dirt and gravel, many harmful gases etc. These are dumped in seas, rivers or land without adequate treatment. Thus, become a large source of environmental pollution.
Commercial waste
Commercial waste is any waste produced by a business on its premises.
Commercial waste is non-hazardous.
This waste mainly from commercial area.
Domestic waste
Domestic Waste or Household Waste means solid waste, comprised of garbage and rubbish, which normally originates in the residential private household or apartment house.
wastes which are collected during household activities like cooking, cleaning, etc. are known as domestic wastes. Example: leaves, vegetable peels, excreta, etc.
