Woolf struggled all her life with her mental
health:
Experiencing periods of depression
She probably had a bipolar disorder (manic
depression)
She was sent many times to institutions
She attempted many times suicide, and committed
suicide in 1941.
WHO WAS VITA SACKVILLE - WEST
Glamorous writer who was ten years younger than
Woolf, an aristocratic
Sackville-West married the diplomat Harold Nicholson in 1913: both would have homosexual relationships outside of their marriage
She caused a scandal in 1917 when she and her lover Violet
Trefusis ran away to Europe;
after 2 years they were brought back by their relatives.
