TRISTAN- one of the central characters and one of such tasks is to fight the dragon and conquer the Queen Iseult for King Mark, so he can marry her

THEME OF THE STORY
CURTLY LOVE- most prominent theme in the story is love. It is forbidden and unexpected, because Tristan and Iseult drank poisoned wine that was made for Iseult and King, but deep and true as far as the couple couldn’t hold their feelings inside and weren't afraid of being revealed.
TREASON-
The only person who goes through most of the treasons is King Mark. He was betrayed by the closest people – Tristan and Iseult. Their love to each other broke king’s heart, and he couldn’t think that his loyal soldier and friend Tristan would lead away his future wife.
ROYAL LIFE-
The author breaks people’s expectations about the seemingly luxurious life of royalty. The story shows us that such life is often worse than life of ordinary people

A major conflict starts from the moment when Tristan and Iseult fall in love and goes through the whole story. It takes place between them and all people which surround them and all circumstances because of which they can’t be together.

One paradox is the fact that Tristan could die by the hands of Iseult and was hated by her, but soon they fell in love.
Parallelism
The relationship between Tristan and Iseult develops in parallel to other events in the story
Climax
The climax happens when Tristan doesn’t consummate the marriage with his new wife and wants to go back to the Iseult. This decision took him to death.
summary polt
Isolde, is on board a ship from Ireland to Cornwall, as she marries King Marke who governs Cornwall. She is escorted by Tristan, the King’s loyalist and his nephew.
Isolde has already fallen in love with Tristan. But now he delivers her to the King as though she were a prisoner. She compels him to take poison with her because she detests the idea of marrying King Marke. However, her maid, Brangane, prepares medicine of love instead of poison. When their ship calls at the port, they have already fallen passionately in love with each other
When King Marke goes out hunting, his wife, Isolde, meets secretly with Tristan. By chance, King Marke appears there. The King laments that his loyalist and wife betray him. Tristan doesn’t apologize for his actions. The King’s other loyalist, Melot, rushes forward, and hacks at Tristan. Tristan drops his sword and he is wounded.
In Tristan’s home castle he lies severely wounded, tended by his attendant Kurwenal and he calls Isolde for Tristan. But Tristan has already died when she appears.King Marke also appears, having found out that Tristan and Isolde took medicine of love.Isolde’s destiny is decided. She chooses kill herself
symbols of the story
Tristen and Iseult was filled to the brim with symbolism, the sword, the dragon, the philter, and plenty of others. Each of these has many paradoxical, similar, Ironic, oxymoronic, and contradictory symbols.
