Per parlare di un evento che si verifica regolarmente quando/se si presenta una condizione/causa
ZERO CONDITIONAL
Condizione: if + present simple
Conseguenza: present simple
If you mix red and yellow, you get orange
Per parlare di un evento che potrà avvenire nel futuro se si presenta una condizione/causa (alta probabilità)
FIRST CONDITIONAL
Condizione: if + present simple
Conseguenza: will + verbo base
If it is sunny tomorrow, I will go for a walk with my family
Per parlare di una conseguenza che avremmo nel caso si verificasse una condizione POCO probabile o impossibile
SECOND CONDITIONAL
Condizione: if + past simple
Conseguenza: would + verbo base
If I could leave tomorrow, I would visit Japan
Per parlare di ciò che sarebbe successo in passato se certe condizioni si fossero realizzate
THIRD CONDITIONAL
Condizione: if + past perfect
Conseguenza: WOULD + HAVE + verbo participio passato
If Romeo had waited, he would have found out that Juliet was actually alive
Per parlare di una conseguenza che si verificherebbe nel caso in cui la realtà PRESENTE fosse DIVERSA
SECOND CONDITIONAL
Condizione: if + past simple
Conseguenza: would + verbo base
If I were taller, I would become a professional basketball player
