Women
The first cabinet member was appointed by FDR (Frances Perkins as Sec. of Labor)
There was work discrimination against women when it came to wor and they had no opprotunities beause FDR was focusing on getting the men back to work first
The women were elected to official positions
African Americans
FDR was seen as a listener to the African Americans.

Franklin Roosevelt completely ignored Civil Rights and moved on advancing the country in a different way without giving rights to African Americans.
FDR created Executive Order 8802, which created the Fair Employment Practice Committee for the African Americans.

Labor
This garnered more support from the workers for FDR.
There was also the inclusion of minimum wage and the 40 hour work week that is made popular.
With the addition of the WPA the morale increased
The Wagner act also helped the companies with reduced strikes and as a result, the workers unionize.
Federal Government
FDR hoped it would be a quick fix from market crash
Hoped it would balance socialism and capitalism.
The Federal Government was expected to fix the economy
Native Americans
The Indian Reorganization Act was put into effect and replaced the Dawes Act
Native Americans now got more land, some tribal sovereignty, got credit systems, and Native Americans were allowed to form corporations
The Native Americans got their own New Deal
Lasting Effects/Enduring Reforms
There are multiple lasting reforms from this time period,
Some of the reforms include Social Security
Labor-minimum wage and 40 hour work week
Banking- FDIC prevent bank panics
Stock Market- SEC watchdog, this is still here in the modern world today
A lot of the reforms have since been cut or they have been merged into something else. As a result, of everything there are many new buildings.
Democratic Party
This bettered the image of the party and FDR was seen as a hero with these reforms
This garnered more support for FDR.
For example: white South, parts of the West, and urban political machines before and after the coalition, it included farmers, urban immigrants, unionized workers, northern African Americans, and women
Mexican Americans
This led to around two million immigrants to be kicked hoping that this would create jobs for the United States.
40 to 60 percent of the people deported were children.
The United States had a significant belief that the Mexican Americans were to blame for lack of jobs.
