        Darius discovers that giving emotionally energy to people like Trent and Chip isn't worth it
    - - Because of this, Darius doesn't feel very
        connected to his father, feel like he's not good
        enough or even just enough for his father.
        
        This can get in the way of Darius finding himself, he may stray away from certain things, feelings, ideas, to try and conform to an image that is presentable enough to his father.
        
        Darius doesn't like to share those moments with anyone else because it's the only time he feels they really act like a father and son
        
        Darius now understand that he can be petty even to his family but is trying to change that because he doesn't want that pettiness to interfere with his family.

        Feeling inferior to Laleh, his younger sister.
      - Struggling with participating in Persian traditions.

      - Feeling like he's a failure for needing a pill

        Discovered that he was Iranian enough

        He thinks that if he puts his problems on to people is a bad thing
        
        Realizes that talking about your problems won't be a burden to people
        
        He deals with the negative emotions by talking to other people and getting help from them

        Starts to see more of himself on who he is rather than who he can compare himself to
        
        Starts to feel better about himself not focusing on other people and focusing on himself
        
        Starts to feel bad about himself on who he is
        
        Starts to see something good about himself, he says that him in fancy clothes makes it so he is almost handsome
        
        Starts to like himself

        He changes in a way where he is more social
        
        He still has his nerd side but isn't completely social
        
        doesn't take away his nerd side which makes him true to himself but keeps himself by being anti social but social enough where he can improve his life

        Sohrab gives Darius "his nice cleats" (pg. 105) so he can play soccer with him and some boys in the area
        
        Sohrab had such an impact on Darius and the way he sees himself Darius promised him that they will continue to be friends after Darius leaves Iran
- - - - You could feel the pressure by how there is little dialogue
        
        Darius starts to feel more comfortable as his life is getting better
        
        There is more talking in the book and its much more happy and free
        
        Darius can feel free and happy instead of his gloomy, insecure self
  - - - There wasn't alot in the plot aswell. it just felt like the same thing as something was missing
        
        When Darius gets more active there is alot more movement and more action
        
        Shows that Darius' life has more to it than he thought when he tries to get out of his little bubble

        This means that there is alot of interactions between people
        
        Forces Darius to talk about his problems because the house doesn't allow you to hide from your family
        
        Darius talks about his problems which helps him get more social and feel comfortable around his family
