Reproduction
the function of relationship includes the processes by which living beings respond to the stimuli they receive, both from the external environment and from the interior of their organism.
tropisms
if the stimulus is gravity, we have gavitropism or geotropism. Plant roots have positive gavitropism, because they grow toward the center of the Earth
if the stimulus is water, we are facing hydrotropism. The roots have positive hydrotropism, since they grow looking for the wettest areas
if the stimulus is light, we speak of phototropism. Most stems exhibit positive phototropism, because they grow towards the light source
nastias
if the stimulus is a sudden movement, we speak of sismonastia. The closure of the leaves of some carnivorous plants by an insect or a drop of water, is an example of sismonastia
If the stimulus is contact, it is called tigmonastia. The movement of the tendrils by rubbing with the support is an ahem of tigmonastia
If the stimulus is light, nastia is called photonastia. The opening and closing movement of some flowers in the face of light or its absence, is an example of photonastia.
