The Great Depression Causes

By 1929 almost 700 banks had failed throught the US and by 1930 more than 3000 failed.

Because of the panic people started to participate in bank runs where people basically tried to withdraw as much money from a bank as possible

Franklin Roosevelt controlled the Congress

People lost their jobs

Bank runs forced even more banks to close and by the end of the decade more than 9000 banks failed because of the people's panic.

Negotiations between countries about the tariffs

Unable to pay for goods or services

Most banks that survived were now unwilling to lend any money in order for them to stay afloat.
