There are four factors that can change the size of a population

It collects data. It has the information about people and their family.

Absolute population

The total number of inhabitants in an area

Natural increase

= Births - Deaths

Positive: births>deaths

Negative: births<deaths

Actual increase

= Natural increase + Immigrants - Emigrants

Positive: population increases

Negative: population decreases

Population density

The average number of people in an area.

= population / square kilometres

Rural areas: low population density

Urban areas: high population density
