Electricity and direct current circuits
Electricity
ELECTRICITY is a form of energy that lets negatively charged particles.
ELECTRIC CURRENT: is the flow of electrons from one atom to another inside a conductive material.
ELECTRICAL ENERGY: is the most common form of energy because it is easy to obtain.
Conductors and insulators
INSULATORS:materials that do not let electric current flow through them.
CONDUCTORS: materials that let electic current flow through them.
Electric circuits. Components
ELECTRIC CIRCUIT: is a series of interconnected components that an electric current flows through to produce an effect
POWER SOURCES: components that supply the nessesary electrical energy to the rest of the circuit in orther to move the electrons.
CONDUCTORS: components that transport the electrical energy from the power sources to the load devices; in other words; the electric current flows through these components.
LOAD DEVICES:components that receive the electrical energy from the power sources and convert it to other types of useful energy
CONTROL DEVICES: devices that regulate the circuit; in other words they allow or prevent the flow of electric current trough the circuit.
Power sources components
CELL: supplies electrical energy to the rest of the circuit.
BATTERY: a grouped set of cells.
Load devices
LAMP: converts electrical energy to light energy
MOTOR:converts electrical energy to kinetic energy
BUZZER: converts electrical energy to sound energy
RESISTORS: converts electtrical energy to heat energy.

WiIRE:the components that electrical current flow through
control devices
ONE-WAY SWITCH: one -way switches open or close the circuit when they are pressed.
PUSH SWITCH:Open and close the circuit but only while the button is pushed
TWO- WAY SWITCH: two-way switches have two positions.
Open circuits and closed circuits. Short circuits
CLOSED CIRCUIT.
ON:the lamp is lit
OPEN CIRCUITS
off:the lamp is not lit
Circuits are controlled by switches that open and close the circuit when they are pressed
SHORT CIRCUIT: occurs when the electric current is transported by the wires without passing through a load devide.
Types of circuits
PARALLELCIRCUITS: In these circuits, the load devices are connected on differents branches of the wire.
SERIES-PARALLEL COMBINATION CIRCUITS: These circuits contain devices conected in series and in parallel.
SERIES CIRCUITS: In these circuits, all the components are connected one after to other.

We can convert energy in :light ,heat, motion, and sound.
