Dockside development, along one of busiest waterways - key point for imports and exports
Challenges
2012 - New bus lanes added to reduce congestion. Was a project to build high speed train, join Rosario and Buenos Aries.
Waste management - pressing issue as there is a growing population with health and safety and environmental impacts
Transport provision - Port of Rosario becomes clogged with silt and needs to be dredged to allow ships in.
Unemployment - riots in city, with high unemployment rates and economic problems leading people to loot supermarkets
Housing availability - many slums, which houses 100,000 people and 10% of space in the city.
Crime - slum districts (villas miserias) are beset by high levels of poverty and crime. Violent drug war and criminals have allegedly infiltrated the police and football teams to take control.
