Between the years 1798 - 1804, a new law was introduced – French chemist Joseph Proust developed The Law of Definite Composition/Proportion. However, at that time, Proust’s law was very controversial and was disputed by the majority. Additionally, another chemist named John Dalton supported his idea at an atom level, he made some alteration and postulated Proust’s law.
