Buffalo are vital - used them for everything - meat for food, skin for clothing and tipis, bones for weapons. Only ever killed the needed amount and never killed women and children for preservation reasons
Didn't see land as an object, it couldn't be bought or sold so the land belonged to everyone.
Women did the work in the camps while men hunted. Women were respected as they owned tipis and the contents which gave them status

Created their own city, Joseph smith ran for presidency and was killed in jail by an angry mob
