- - - - Cause: The main cause is the power that many people have in this type of society, so that children are recruited, their parents are aware of this, but being recruited by people with so much power they will not say anything, that is to say the main cause is the abandonment by the government to children and the abundant power that some people have.
        
        Effects: children are sexually abused and forced to do things that they don't want to do, like just making them dress a certain way and making them dance a certain way, people don't say anything - "everybody knows it goes on, but people just don't want to admit it because it's considered embarrassing or shameful, or it's kind of a thing that's actually practiced openly."

      - when the Farid and Amir arrive in Kabul they find beggars everywhere, remembering their childhood, the city was a mess and there were beggars everywhere, which is synonymous with lack of education as people have no knowledge of how to live a life and have an income, help society, or any kind of knowledge and prefer to beg, in an "abandoned" city.
