CLIMATE - Coggle Diagram
CLIMATE
climate is the description of the long-term pattern of weather in a particular area.
it can be affected by
presence of reliefs that can stop the wind
nearness to the sea: sea's water assorbs and releases heat
latitude: the more a point is far from equator, the more the temperatures drop
this happens because the solar rays disperse in a greater area.
On the other hand, at the equator they spread the heat in a central area
solar rays manage to warm the Earth through the
GREENHOUSE EFFECT
greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere trap the infrared rays caused by solar rays

altitude: the more the altitude increases, the more the heat of the sun is dispersed into the air
human activity increases the release of greenhouse gases

the climate can change naturally in very long periods
MILANKOVITCH'S CYCLES
which depend on
OBLIQUITY
ECCENTRICITY
PRECESSION
volcanic activity
which can change the composition of the atmosphere
altering the green house effect
In long term the volcans release a lot of CO2 and other green house gases, increasing the green house effect
In short term, the volcanic activity releases ashes which reject the sun rays, lowering the temperature
