he German army was limited to 100,000 men with no heavy artillery, the Navy was limited to six battleships, six cruisers, 12 destroyers, and 12 torpedo boat. No submarines were allowed. No air force was allowed
Germany was a proud and fiercely nationalist nation that was very proud of its military (particularly in the Prussian region). They also felt that it was unfair for them to take the full blame for the war when they were not fully responsible.

friedrich ebert was a politician who was the leader in bringing in the weimar republic
on the 11 november 1918 the government signed the end of war pact
ebert being one of the main curators of the weimar republic signalled the start of actual democracy in germany
ebert also gained the trust of trade unionists
the SPD won 40% of votes whilst the moderates
won 80% of votes
the chancellor was head of the government and was appointed by the president,
The president was elected every 7 years and could over ride the government using article 48, however they played no part in day-to-day politics
the reichstag was the more powerful of the two houses, they controlled taxation and were elected by the people every 4 years.
the reichsrat were also elected every 4 years and represented their regions of Germany
all men and women over the age of 21 were able to vote.
Strengths= it was very democratic, proportional representation meant that more parties were represented, the constitution was designed so no one person or group had too much power and there was a good balance between central government and local government.
