- What is the differences of acute and chronic inflammation?
Acute inflammation occurs rapid on set while chronic inflammation occurs slower on set. Next, acute inflammation has prominent neutrophil cells while chronic inflammation has prominent monocytes, macrophages and lymphocytes. For acute inflammation, the tissue injury and fibrosis are mild and self-limiting while chronic inflammation can see severe and prognosis tissue injury and fibrosis. In acute inflammation, we can see prominent local and systemic signs such as swelling, reddish, pain and heat while in chronic inflammation, we cannot see local and systemic signs. In acute inflammation, there are causative agents such as infections, physical agents and foreign bodies while in chronic inflammation, there are recurrent acute inflammation, persistent acute inflammation or autoimmune reactions. In acute inflammation, it can persist up to a few days while in chronic inflammation, it can persist up to many months or years. In acute inflammation, the outcome is resolution abscess formation while in chronic inflammation, it involves tissue destruction and fibrosis.

CONCLUSION
Inflammation plays a very important role in our immune system when there is an injury or infection. It is the body’s way of signalling the immune system to heal and repair damaged tissues. It is also important to defend the immune system from any foreign particles such as viruses and bacteria.
INTRODUCTION
When an injury occurs, the body goes through many phases in order to heal. Each phase has a specific purpose in preparing the body for the next phase of recovery. The bleeding phase, the inflammatory phase, the proliferation phase, and the remodelling phase are the phases that the body goes through following an injury. Each of these phases occurs at a different period throughout the recovery process. Inflammation is a defensive response of the body to tissue damage.The purpose of inflammation in tissue healing is to aid in the promotion of healing and to establish an environment surrounding the wounded region that is conducive to the quickest healing period and the most effective healing process.
