What is the best process for choosing where to live?
Identify what key attributes I need to consider in a location
A list of key attributes every first time homeowner/ relocator should consider when making this decision

Identify which states & cities meet my initial desires
Explain to someone who has background on different cities & states what my desires are for my new home. They would be able to understand what I am looking for and identify what states & cities would meet those requirements I have.
Online Quiz where I put in some of my top priorities for a location to have and it gives me back all of the states & cities that meet what I am looking for

I have not been able to find a quiz out there that considers all of the attributes I have identified I would want in a location
It would not be personalized to understand priority in the desired location attributes and fully understand me to help identify other potentials

Real estate agents are usually focused in on one location so I would have to talk with so many to understand the housing market in each state / city
Real estate agents are hoping you buy with them so some may persuade you the city is great for what you are looking for without telling you some of the downfalls of the location

Join and look at posts in that city / states facebook page

Bias's Similar to how you have to take company reviews with a grain of salt on yelp, people on facebook may be going on and writing about AMAZING experiences or TERRIBLE experiences only
The people writing the reviews may not have the same desires you have in a location

Get insight on the states & cities without bias
"Job Shadow" a resident in the cities I am interested in

Travel to the cities / states and explore or take a tour

You may not know anyone that lives in all of the places you are considering
If you find someone you don't know that is willing to help you in your process, they might not give the best advice as they do not understand you as a person and you do not know how reliable they are
