Goals of Turkish Educational System
The goals of Turkish Educational System covers all the individuals.
General Goals
In other perspective, citizens that emotionally in body and mind emotionally balanced are aimed by Turkish Educational System. These citizens need to be freethinkers, respectfull and have broad scientific worldview besides sense of responsibility to public.
Citizens are trained to have a profession according to their skills and passion to improve both individuals' and society's well-being.
All the Turkish individuals are trained according to Ataturk's principles and reforms and they are expected to be aware of, protect and develop Turkish national, humanitarian, moral and cultural values. In addition, compassion besides effort to flourish for family, homeland and national is desired. Moreover, citizens know mission and responsibility to Republic of Turkey which is secular, democratic and state of law.
Specific Goals
Turkish educational System is designed to actualize these goals and private educational foundations need to dependent on these articles.
Main Principles of Turkish Educational System
Equality in opportunity and possibility
Female and male all citizens are equal and have opportunity to get education. Successful students that can not afford for further education are given support.
Oriantation
Individuals are trained by canalizing diverse programs and schools according to their skills and interest.
Unıversality and Equality
All educational institutations are open to everyone without any discrimination in terms of age, gender, disability and religion. There is noone privilege.
Ataturk's principles and reforms; Ataturk's nationalism
All educational programs and activities is based on Ataturk's principle and reforms as it applies in constituion. National, moral values and culture are put emphasis on. Turkish language are learned at every stage in educational instituations. It is collaborated with Turkish Language Society and Turkish History Society to improve Turkish language and make it contemporary education and science language.
Education Campuses and cooperation schools with families
Education campuses can be set when there are schools and faculties in the same area and campus management council can be constituded to provide their needs. In addition to, colloboration is made between schools and families to assist schools' objectives. For that purpose, parent-teacher association is set.
Secularism
Turkish national education system is based on secularism. Culture of religion and knowledge of ethics is taught in high schools and schools that is match with high schools' level neccessarily.
Right to Education
Primary education is right for all Turkish citizens.
Democracy Education
Democracy awareness, knowledge of country's management and improving of moral sensation besides resbonsibility towards country is aimed by education system. However, it can not be prompted against Ataturk's principle and reforms while doing it.
Needs
Education is design to meet needs of citizens and society in the light of Turkish people's skills and desire.
Scientificness
Lesson plans, approaches and materials in all level and class are improved consistently in line with scienific and technological innovations besides neccesities of the country and environment. Efficiency in education is increased with scientific researches. Educational institutions whose duty is improving culture, generate information and technology. Their initiative has material aid and sipiritaul support.
Education in Everywhere
The goals of national education are not only for formal and private schools but for education in home, environment and everywhere as well. All actiities of formal, private and volunteer schools are examined by the ministry of national education.
Continuosness
Individuals' generel and professional education continue lifelong. In addition, supplying educaton for adult people to help them being conformable in dailylife and professional life is duty of education.
Being planed
Education is planned and actualized in the light of professional and technical education, which is require to improve techonical progress in industry and argiculture. Moreover professional range and their supersition, authority and resbonsibility are determined by law. Educational instituation's requirement like location, personnel and equipment are identified. By this manner, instituations are design according to these standarts.
Coeducation
It is a basis to actualized mixed-sex education in schools. However, students can be separeted when it is required in terms of type, diffuculty and possibilities of education
