- - - - Black people feel trapped in a lie as the Fourth of July is celebrating independence, freedom and liberty, but none of them were received by the Black American society.
      - It is unfair how just by having a different skin color, people get to live a better life quality, have a better treatment and more.
      - Black people are still fighting to get their deserved equality among society.
    - - These selections open up our eyes to how the Civil War ended with the good life quality, happiness and hope of society.
      - It also focuses on the time period after the war, by a speech in which the author tries to convey how things will get better and a better future is about to come.
        
        Hoping that society will bond the nation, end war, and give a good and deserved future for the ones that lived and were born throughout the war.
    - - Society continued with segregation and discrimination towards the Black people, which made their lives harder.
      - This adds up to the fact that after getting freedom, liberty was still an issue.
      - Throughout the final selections the authors give the perspective on their daily lives to the readers.
        
        By describing what women went through on their fight for rights in a world of men.
        
        Several selections add how Wives realized they had freedom only after their husband died or went away.
        
        Some authors were powerful by adding details on how women's are powerful enough to turn the world upside down, as Eva did once.
