Conclusions
How did the war end?
In the year 1988, the soviet union decided to sign an accord with the United States, Pakistan and Afghanistan, in which they agreed to the withdrawal of ALL troops. The reasons behind this withdrawal within the Soviet Union were internal Stability, limited foreign intervention and the international recognition of the Democratic Republic of the Communist Government of afghanistan.
What happened after the war ended?
After 1988, during the following 10 years, the talibans regime continued to grow, and the Taliban controlled over 90% of Afghanistan with incredibly oppresive rules, practices, and violations of human rights, making them a threat.
Also it is important to say that the United States later entered Afghan territory with military as well in 2001, with the purpose of avenging the 2001 attacks on the twin towers with the support of NATO and over 40 countries. Another purpose of this invasion was to condemn the Taliban of its actions, and free Afghanistan of this regime of terror.
